We're not hiring employees. We're recruiting cognitive athletes who are ready to disrupt, synthesize, and occasionally take ownership of the snack budget.
View Open Roles ↓We've distilled our culture into three principles. We put them on the wall in the San Francisco office. No one has asked about them yet, but we're confident they will.
We iterate at the speed of thought, which is faster than the speed of light if you think about it hard enough. Mistakes are celebrated here — unless they impact uptime, at which point they are investigated thoroughly via a blameless post-mortem in which we identify who is to blame.
Everyone owns everything. The code, the roadmap, the kitchen, the paradigm. If something is wrong, it's yours now. Congratulations. This is not a burden — it is an opportunity. We hope you see it that way. Ownership is nonnegotiable.
We invest heavily in your cognitive development. We have a $500 annual learning budget and a Slack channel called #growth-mindset that gets approximately 2 messages per year. The last one was a link to a podcast. It was a good podcast.
All positions are full-time. All positions report, directly or indirectly, to the paradigm.
You will own the paradigm. Not figuratively — we will put your name on it in the codebase. 7+ years of paradigm experience required. Experience shifting paradigms under pressure preferred. Must be comfortable with ambiguity, specifically the ambiguity of what this role actually does.
We need a revenue-native individual who views pipeline not as a metaphor but as a lifestyle. You will close deals on products you may not fully understand, which is fine because neither will your customers. OTE: $400K+ (paradigm-dependent).
You will know things. Important things. You will not be able to tell anyone what those things are. You will sit in many meetings and nod with increasing authority. Brittany will rely on you for everything except the things she handles herself, which is most things.
We need someone to user-test the paradigm. Do users understand what we're selling? (No.) Can we make them feel like they do? (Yes, with your help.) 3+ years of research experience required. Comfort with ambiguous findings required — specifically the finding that no one knows what NeuroCore™ does but everyone wants it.
Build the systems that disrupt the systems that previously disrupted things. TypeScript preferred. Must be able to explain your work to non-technical stakeholders using only metaphors about weather and journeys.
Generate insights. Approximately 3 per week. They don't need to be new insights — rephrased insights are fine. You will write things like "The future of enterprise AI is not artificial intelligence — it is intentional intelligence" and people will share them on LinkedIn.
We believe in investing in our people. Here is evidence of that belief.
Subject to paradigm availability. Take as much time as you need, within reason. Reason is defined by your manager.
Comprehensive coverage including therapy, which you will need. We say this with warmth.
Spend it on anything that disrupts your routine — books, a pottery class, one (1) axe throwing session. No axes as gifts for coworkers.
Company-wide offsites twice a year. We fly everyone to Scottsdale. If you ask why Scottsdale, the answer is "rates."
The paradigm is that lunch is free on Fridays. The deeper paradigm is that you'll eat at your desk anyway. We've made peace with this.
Paradigm-vesting schedule: 4 years with a 1-year cognitive cliff. Liquidity event timeline: paradigm-dependent.
MacBook Pro, mechanical keyboard of your choosing, and one (1) Mercwear branded tote bag. It replaced the Synaptiq one. We don't talk about the Synaptiq one.
We match up to 4% of your salary. This is real, unlike some of the other things on this list which are mostly real.
Send us a speculative application describing your paradigm and how it might intersect with ours. We read every one. We respond to some of them. We are grateful for all of them.
