Must see movies
These are not necessarily new however I never posted about them (I should have!). I watched a lot of good movies this year, more good ones than bad which I guess makes it a good year in terms of movie quality. There were 2 movies that really stood out as “Must See†to me – I will definitely be picking them up on DVD when available.
Eastern Promises
This film did not receive much advertisement so I would not be surprised if you have never heard of it however this is a damn good movie. It starts out as a your typical mob story and quickly escalates into a very unique look into the Russian underworld, there are also several great fight scenes and a few huge twists.

No Country for old men
This is the latest work of the Coen brothers. With huge hitters such as Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski, and Fargo under their belt, you can’t help but to expect a great movie from these two and believe me when I say, No Country for old men is some of their best work to date.
The movie follows a psychotic killer’s search for stolen drug money – but it’s much more than your standard shoot ‘em up thriller. The storyline is full of symbolism that in my opinion will require several viewings to completely grasp. The main character is well thought out and does not follow any of the typical stereotypes that are found in similar movies, the fact that he uses a device designed to kill cattle to do his dirty work is only a bonus!
