My dad and I went to the coast this weekend, we had planned to fish Padre island national seashore like we did last year however Red Tide changed the plans.
Here are a few pictures of the fish we caught near Port Oconnor on the innercostal.
45 inch Red / 27 lbs
Caught on 10lb test line and a tiny Shimano reel

The total catch for 2 days – the ice chest was FULL!

Full update coming soon!

Mike and I went to the Comal river yesterday to try out our new dive gear. This was my first time diving the river and I found it to be a very enjoyable dive. There is a ton of animal life below the surface ranging from largemouth bass to turtles. I was able to capture a Crayfish (Crawdad as they are known in Texas!) and bring it home to photograph:

The river is anywhere from 3 to 14 feet deep and is teeming with these little things most of which are trying to avoid becoming lunch from a larger fish.
There are more pictures of the Crawdad in the gallery.
