I started Scuba classes this weekend! It’s something that I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember. A friend of mine (Mike) and I started our PADI open water classes on Saturday and all I can say is this is more fun that I could have ever imagined.
So far we have only gotten to dive in a 25’ deep pool however next weekend we are hitting the open water! Canyon lake and the Comal river – it’s going to be a blast.. One thing about scuba is it’s not a cheap hobby to take up however it is very rewarding, even after my limited exposure I am in love with it!
Andrea and I are going to take a trip to Cozumel in August, this is the primary reason I elected to do the class now – I will get to dive in one of the most beautiful dive locations in the world only a few weeks after I am certified.
More on my gear and pictures coming soon – I am BEAT from the classes!! (Over 8 hours each day)

I am sitting here watching the shuttle launch on HDNET thanks to Jason. Here I was thinking that I would see it on NBC, not knowing that I could watch one of the most prolific things that mankind has to offer in high definition (Thanks dude!). One of the coolest things about watching the launch is that you can actually hear the dialog between the Astronauts and mission control – very cool.
Shuttle Facts:
Each space suit that the Astronauts wear is custom build for the individual wearing it at an average cost of 1 million dollars.
The name of the mission for today’s launch is “Return to Flight.
The shuttle is going to bring back 14 tons of “Space Trash from the international space station.
Discovery is the shuttle that launched the Hubble Space Telescope in April of 1990.
Discovery’s first flight was on August 30, 1984
Space shuttles are officially knows as Space Transportation System or STS for short
The shuttle will go from 0 – 17,000 MPH in less than 8 minutes
